getting out of the closet.
question, because i’ve been seeing a lot of shady shit happen. i’ve first seen it in my family, now with friends families.
so when your son/daughter comes out of the closet. & oh, this rant is about the PARENTS of gay children, not the gay community themselves. so when you (for example) decide that you like the same sex. & of course for some people, it’s hard to come out the closet.. because of all the judgement that comes along with it. so some people deny & just become unhappy, or live a life of lies to their family.. who knows. everyone deals with it differently. some people actually DO tell their parents, cause they feel it’s necessary. now….. when people come out the closet. it’s either they’re accepted or not. personally, i think they shouldn’t give two fucks about outside opinions. life is easier just trying to please YOURSELF… so is it easy to understand that some parents/other family members can step in the closet when you step out? you’re all happy & whatnot cause you said what you had to say & that load is off your chest. but now your parents are in denial, or hoping you come back like JK! APRIL FOOLS! like my aunt, & cousin for example. she’s full on lesbian, no problem with that. but my family seems to make an issue out of it. telling my little cousins that… ‘the girl she’s with in pics?….ohhh that’s her BFFFFFF FO LIFE.’ just because they don’t want my little cousins to be gay. & i personally think that’s pretty fucked. let me just say, my mother’s side of the family is pretty twisted. anyway… she moved to alabama to be with her girlfriend & they’re doing completely fine together. so we saw one of my aunt’s friends from work. & my dad & mom was talking to her, she asked how linda was doing, than asked how ashley was doing.. & my mom said she’s seen pics. ashley is fine, she lives in alabama so we haven’t seen her often. the lady asked alabama? linda never told me that.. & when my dad said yeah? she lives in alabama with her girlfriend. & the lady looked like she threw up in her mouth. so i stepped in to say yeah, she’s having the time of her life though, she looks happy in pictures :) & the lady said my aunt never said anything about ashley ever being with a girl in her life. *shrugs* & when the topic comes up & i ask how she’s doing. all falls silent. weird. anyways, with a couple friends of my boyfriend & mines… their families are like.. seriously in denial that their child is gay. this one guy i met, his son is gay. been with this other male for about a year & a half. & when i went to pick him up for a night out one weekend.. i introduced myself to his parents & my boyfriend went out to smoke out back & they asked me if i was going to date his son… cause ‘he’s a real stud, & needs a real women’ & his mother in the living room goes.. yeah, not someone who wishes they can be… eek? like what the fuck? & other people i’ve seen actually sit there & talk to me about their son like it’s a dating show. & when i get in the car after the meet & greet.. their son/daughter is in TEARS….. meh. this is only some families, the ones i’ve met. i’m not at all saying ALL families are like this. just sickening for those who are… :)
